Patient's Rights and Responsibilities

  1. You have access to equal medical treatment in the hospital regardless of your nationality, gender, age, occupation. Discrimination is strictly prohibited.
  2. You shall be respected and have access to good medical care. You have the right to notify hospital personnel of improper treatment and you can provide the hospital with feedback on your stay as a patient. Hospital Authority is required to respond to patientsinquires positively.
  3. The patient has access to his/her own medical records, including diagnosis, medication, and the recovery plan. This information is available at the patient’s request.
  4. Every staff member in the hospital must wear his/her name badge and carry his/her identity badge at all times. Any staff member found without the name badge and identity badge is not allowed to treat patients and will be immediately reported to hospital authority.
  5. Patients have the right to participate in the meetings regarding the patient’s treatment. Through the guidance of the physician, the patient makes the final decision on what medical treatment is best suited for him or her.
  6. The hospital shall respect the privacy of patients and keep the medical diagnosis, medical history and treatment consultation with physicians confidential.
  7. Patients have the right to constant medical treatment in a friendly and comfortable environment.
  8. Before undergoing any testing patients will be asked for consent. Hospital Authority shall provide patients with a complete run-through of the test. The physician will advise the patient of the reason for the health exam, the health risks, and complications or after effects caused by the testing. Patients have the right to reject any medical testing prescribed by their physician.
  9. In terms of surgery, medical physician must explain in advance to the patient the reason for surgery. Moreover, the physician will provide the patient with the reason for this type of surgery, the risks associated with anesthesia, and side effects post-surgery. The physician must have the patients consent before beginning the surgery. In addition a signed agreement with the signature of the patient’s wife/husband or the patient’s wife/husbands family is also required. There is an exception when there is a crucial situation and pre-surgery consent has not been collected, the physician may go on with the surgery to save the patient’s life.
  10. Hospital Authority is required to attend medical education training sessions and the hospital welcomes patients to attend as well. Patients have the right to reject any invitation that does not deal with his or her medical treatment. The rejection of the invitation will not affect the medical treatment.
  11. Patients have the right to accept or reject CPR when patients’ lives are in critical condition. Patients also have the right to reject any further medical treatment by the authority of the law.
  12. Patients have the right to request a photocopy of their medical history, diagnosis, treatment history and billing of medical treatment.
  13. Patients have the right to know hospital rules and responsibilities in order to have a comfortable and safe experience.
